Annual Convention Call for Presentations

2025 Convention Call for Presentations

Wyoming Engineering and Surveying Society 105th Annual Convention

The Wyoming Engineering and Surveying Society Annual Convention is the Society’s only membership event. It is the single annual opportunity where Society members gather for continuing education opportunities, vendor interaction and product review, professional group meetings, and social networking.

For those interested in presenting, please fill out the PRESENTATION FORM to apply.

The Convention program is designed to have technical and educational components that meet the needs of the engineering and surveying professions in the State of Wyoming and provide our members with Continuing Professional Competency Credits.  These sessions are designed to satisfy requirements to maintain professional licensure in the State of Wyoming, primarily, but as allowed in other jurisdictions.

The Convention program provides benefits to attendees on an educational and professional level. Employers gain value by virtue of increasing their employees’ technical, managerial, and leadership skills through the Convention program.  Program sessions are intended to be free of personal/corporate-specific marketing.

  1. Convention Program and Sessions

  1. Typical sessions are 55 minutes in length and scheduled throughout the Convention and ordinarily occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Program sessions can be lengthened to over one hour upon special request and approval. The Technical Program subcommittee will assign presentation times in the best interest of the Convention once all proposals have been reviewed.  Specific scheduling requests will be considered and accommodated when possible.

  1. Authors may submit a full or partial session idea, and the Technical Program subcommittee may work with the submitting author(s) to merge similar ideas within a category to create a session.  Sessions may be either concurrent (most common), roundtable, or panel discussions.

  1. Submitting a proposal to the Convention constitutes an agreement that, if your proposal is accepted, the author(s) will register for the Convention as a speaker (at no cost), attend the Convention, and present their work in person, preferably. Exceptions may be made in extenuating circumstances to allow a speaker to present remotely using an online platform that will be live streamed to Convention attendees. Please note WES’s capacity to support live streamed presentations is limited.

  1. WES provides no stipend, travel, or lodging for speakers.  WES covers the cost of conference registration for all speakers. With the conference registration, speakers may attend all included sessions, meals and social functions at no cost, but are asked to register for those which they plan to attend so that accurate attendance forecasts and meal counts can be established.
